Winston Churchbus and the full tilt psychedelic ticking time bomb of "Where Do I Begin"

"don't touch me, I'll come out of my head..."

Winston Churchbus is the everso creative musical project of Tulsa, Oklahoma songwriter, drummer Nicholas Foster and the track "Where Do I Begin" featuring artist Olivia McGraw on vocals injected itself deep into my brain almost immediately. The drum beat that feels so upfront pushing into the red EQ wise (I love that) is potent in its shuffle like a ticking bomb that could explode any minute. One of those kinds of beats that could lend itself to almost any genre. When the dirty, plucky bass drops in with equal potency (and red-levels) I am totally hooked in. Olivia McGraw's pretty kind of bohemian / psych vocal aesthetic offsets all the aforementioned distortion. When a radical electric guitar jag lights up the darkness, my spine straightened and a broad smile formed on my face.

"This song is about the moment in a relationship right before explosion, when tensions are boiling and the feeling of discomfort becomes physical, when everyone is wondering how it got this far."

"Where Do I Begin" is such an evocative piece of music as divergent as The Gories, Queens of the Stone Age, Mazzy Star, The Flaming Lips and Tropical Fuck Storm put in a blender all together. The track is a taste of Winston Churchbus's upcoming album "Trophy Husband" dropping August 20th, 2021 on Horton Records out of Tulsa. Besides vocalist and violinist, Olivia McGraw, the album also features the many talents of John Langdon (guitar, vocals), Chris Foster (vocals, bass, piano), a horn section with Zach Elkins, Andy McCormick, Greg Fallis and Bishop Marsh and, of course, at the helm, the aforementioned songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, Nicholas Foster.

Winston Churchbus is the brainchild of Tulsa drummer/songwriter, Nicholas Foster. He got his first drum kit at the age of 1, started piano lessons at the age of 4, got a guitar at the age of 7, and has never stopped playing. Trophy Husband is an eclectic blend of diverse influences that can be raucous or tender, while never losing an indie tone or soulful rock n roll vibe. A smorgasbord of musical appetizers is laid out to satisfy your pop taste buds, with enough complex seasonings to keep you coming back for another plate before you are stuffed and satisfied.
