baseball hat and the illusionary tenderness of "SILHOUETTE"

"All the lies and all the fears / The silhouettes now crystal clear..."

"SILHOUETTE" by baseball hat, the project of the ever shifting minds of multi-instrumentalist / producer Harrison Smith and John Sygar, floats on a groove bitten drum beat, a bending plastic synth riff that feels 'comfortable', sort of jazz pop guitar rhythms and (above all) a vocal aesthetic that ascends and then drops into tenderness. It feels so psychedelically dreamy and surreal actually, like earthly beings dancing on clouds. The lyrical melodies feel part doo wop punk with neo soul pop affections framed all in dreamy indie rock. Lovely stuff.
