Joan of Arkansas and the crunchy punk fun of "Circa"

"I just want to blend in with the crowd..."

Phoenix, Arizona's, Joan of Arkansas, like their punk crunchy and fun, just the way I like my sushi rolls. "Circa" is so deliciously heavy in it's pure, raw, punk pronouncements (lo-fi or otherwise) with super potent and catchy screaming guitar riffs that I couldn't help but think of a raw and earthy amalgam of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, Hüsker Dü and the punk side of 90's college radio.

Joan of Arkansas is Joshua Lynch (vox, bass), Zach Bird (guitar), Kayla Long (vox) and Eirean Bradley (drums).

"It's a little 'pop bomb' that combines an off-kilter, fuzzy guitar riff with melodic vocals. Its lyrics are recursive and vague. Is it a song about lovers separated by time travel? Is it a meta-commentary on the act of writing music itself? Man, we just play the songs - we don't think about them!" - joan of arkansas

Inspired by surf, garage, and indie rock, "Circa" was the first song the band ever wrote. It's a little "pop bomb" that combines an off-kilter, fuzzy guitar riff with melodic vocals. Its lyrics are recursive and vague. Is it a song about lovers separated by time travel? Is it a meta-commentary on the act of writing music itself? Man, we just play the songs - we don't think about them!
