The beautifully lushly sublime and deeply romantic "Fickle" by I Know I know, the artful project of UK singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer Tommy Hill, is by any one's standard lush and incredibly hypnotic. Hill, knows how to stir up sounds around sparse piano, percolating guitar, an upfront but not overwhelming bass and drum beat and his endearing, sultry, passionate, emotional vocal aesthetic. Not only that but he knows the understated power of the repeating notes that push the chorus along (my ear is hearing D to F sharp to D on repeat) which is beautifully powerful in it's simplicity. It is a songwriting technique I have always loved.
"Fickle" follows IKIK's last single 'Fade Out', and the success of Tommy's collaboration with Royal Blood on the song 'Boilermaker' from their latest album which reached number 1 spot in the UK album charts.
