Doxy and the slinky, sometimes sideways, jammy, smile inducing "Autopilot"

"take the boulder to the top of the mountain... roll it back down then you do it again..."

Doxy is the indie rock project of singer-songwriter / musician Oren Elazar with other partners in crime (or rhyme) and I am digging the title track of their (his) debut EP "Autopilot". The track that spins in interesting ways, feeling kind of garage rock-esque with some funky turns / artfully divergently rabbit holes runs and an ultra jammy coda ("freak out") is so easy to like. Oren possesses a sort of aloof vocal aesthetic which works absolutely well in this song about "my struggles with monotony and modern work life". Hey, we have all been there and feeling uninspired is a horrible thing. I have always loved Wayne Campbell's funny / sad line in Wayne's World "I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored" because it is so, so very relatable.

Doxy is the alter ego, musical project centered around singer-songwriter, musician Oren Elazar
