French Cuffs and the explosive addictive "Sammy"

"Sammy can't get out cuz he's upside down..."

Oh "Sammy". The latest offering from Denver based alternative band, French Cuffs, a heavy, jagged rocker "about the struggle of addiction through the eyes of a loved one" itself has an addictive quality. The massive bass and drums (with trip hop-esque embellishments), the chunky guitar and Ashley Niven's psych rock ravaged vocals will make you stop what you are doing to feel the internal waves in your stomach and to gently head bang. French Cuffs like Jimmy Page (Led Zep), Tom Morrelo (Rage Against the Machine) and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) understand fully that the space in between short interrupted guitar heaviness is what creates the massive emotional impact and the resulting vacuum between those big chords create an anticipatory tension.

Dig the sound here. I clipped out a line from the bands press notes about what this song is about, so now I owe you it in it's entirety, so here is is from French Cuffs:

"This song is a time capsule. It's about the struggle of addiction through the eyes of a loved one. You feel like nothing you say will get through to them. It's a cry out into that void of a disassociated sibling"

Now back to head banging.
