Pastis and the blended punchy rock release of "Oh Jaqueline"

Dip into the chunky, night escapist "Oh Jaqueline" by Helsinki five piece Pastis and it could be the musical medicine you need. The dense cross generational rock sound encompasses 70's indie, 80's power pop, 90's post punk while sounding fresh. Markus Nymalm's slightly distorted vox, joyous rhythms and hooky guitar lines, with banging piano keys feels classically drawn while Pastis pull influences from Brit pop and rock and current indie sounds.

As the bands press notes indicate:

”Oh Jaqueline” is an ode to the muse of escapism, the patroness saint of rocking in a free world. Jaqueline is like a quick smoke or a month full of Sundays.

It is what we need during these fucking hard times, sonic steam releasing valves until we get back into the fray of life. Pastis is comprised of Markus Nymalm (vox, guitar, piano), Emil Inberg (guitar, mellotron), Sakari Palmroos (guitar), Henrik Vuoksenmaa (bass) and Kalle Valkama (drums).

"Oh Jaqueline" is the first single from Pastis' upcoming second album.

Pastis is a five piece indie rock group from Helsinki drawing influence from genres such as Britpop, British rock and modern indie-rock. The band has gathered radio plays on BBC6 (UK), NDR (GER) and Radio Fritz (GER) as well as getting featured by online outlets such as Europavox, JaJaJa and AlexRainbirdMusic.

Pastis have recently finished their second album together with Finnish award-winning producer Lauri Eloranta. New music will be released this spring.

“Recent single “Who Left You Standing By The Seashore?” is yet another catchy guitar anthem and further proof that Pastis are operating way above the hordes of Bripop's lazy revivalists.”
