Ask Carol and the post grunge, alt rock declarations of "Mountains Of Cash"

"how would you know about the world aside, your cruel you selfish fool..."

The electric caustic nature of "Mountains Of Cash" by the post grunge, alt rock duo Ask Carol emanating from the Norwegian mountain community Auma feels infused with a sort of alt rock, meets garage rock, meets punk bravado like a crushed up, tight fisted smashing together of artists like White Stripes, PJ Harvey and Brody Dalle (with the Distillers). I don't know anything about Auma but it is fun to watch Ask Carol playing LIVE in nature, snowing or not, up on You Tube.

"Mountains Of Cash" a song that pokes at the Elon Musks of the world, those with unimaginable wealth. Besides the ultra distorted guitars and punchy drums, the big backdrop features trombones and delayed space guitars. Carol's vox can feel pure or as distorted as her guitar, with a guttural rock grit in the back of her throat when she wails. This is Ask Carol’s third single from the upcoming debut album (To be released August 26th).

Based out of the Norwegian mountain community Auma, comes the grungy alt-pop duo Ask Carol. Ask Carol is a high energy power-duo with a big sound. Multitasking is their middle name. Two guitars, drums, a synth, a drum machine and a unique splitting system for Carol's guitar, makes this two-piece sound like a full band. Their sound can be fierce and mean, then suddenly turn soft and comforting. Their sound could make you think of artists like the Kills, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, with a Nordic, melancholic twist. Ask Carol has toured in the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Scandinavia, SXSW two times and more ,and supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The band now put out their music on ChoVan Records, their own Indie Label. "Tonight" (released March 18th) is their first single of 2022, leading up to their debut album Spring 2022.
