"An instrumental about the ridiculous nature of love..."
Falling tentatively into the arms of "I think I'm in love again" by Eugene, Oregon solo composer, musician, diy producer Gingham Jones and it is not long before you are swept away by the grand orchestral ascensions. The song feels like a two act play of sorts and whether you call this soundscape as overall art rock or avant pop or orchestral pop, it spins around you in such lovely ways. It certainly surprises, casting caustic dissonant washes of sound when you least expect it. Creating heavy tension from whimsical beauty while never artistically spinning out of control and like a classical pop meets post rock bi-polar play (that turns it's title on it's head) it feels like an elegant rainbow of emotions between melancholia and joy.
American Pancake is a wonderful entity. Talented artists actually send me such moving music like this. One more thing, the avant pop / orchestral sounds here that Jones composes for his "hypothetical ensemble of drums, guitar, bass, flute, clarinet, and viola" feels to me on par with the wonderful and whimsical music created by Mark Mothersbaugh on the 2001 'The Royal Tenenbaums' Soundtrack.
"I think I'm in love again" is from Gingham Jones' album "Blood Art".

Gingham Jones is a solitary musician currently operating out of Eugene, OR. Music is a great way to explore the deepest pits of being and he aims to convey both the dark extremities, the humorous, and the beautiful using any instrument at his disposal. He currently makes no public appearances and doesn't intend to instead preferring to quietly ponder and study various aspects of life alongside his studio projects.
