Jack Swing and the psych indie rock jam and shine of "Into the Sun"

"mind denies erosion, idolize the ocean..."

The first peak into Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based Jack Swing's upcoming album is the jammy indie rocker "Into the Sun". Listening, I imagine that if this Isaiah (vox, guitar), Rowdy (bass), Jonah (guitar) and Nelson (drums) existed in the late 60's they would of been hippie types and musical blenders. I get that sense because the twisting squeeze of sounds here from psych rock, jazz pop dips, gardenrock, feel soul / funk pushed and the propensity to jam tightly (love the musical breaks) feels like the kind of blendo funkified rock tones you would find at Woodstock. At least, I can feel it (maybe because I have been delving into old documentaries lately) it sewn within their contemporary indie rock sound. I fully realize this could be a case of seeing a certain car model fucking everywhere once you purchase that vehicle but I feel touches of Santana and even Sly and the Family Stone (at least on this track) because the incredibly tightly wound jam factor and mirroring vocal melodies with slightly different lead guitar lines is strong with these guys, something you don't see often anymore.

Listen and share your thoughts with me.

Into the Sun’ is set within the parameters of the harsh realities that we have imposed upon ourselves, those which we all face the consequences of, whether or not choose to believe in them. As we all collectively fall ‘Into the Sun,’ the song serves to remind us to shrug off the trivial and find moments to enjoy the beauty around us. And in such times looking towards and learning from elements around us that have stood the test of time. Thanks for your consideration!
