SeepeopleS and the existential melancholia of 'Shame' (Official Video)

"...with every passing moment I struggle to believe in love, in us, someone's always crashing the bus, you get used to the horror..."

Swirling within the ever shuffling drama of 'Shame' by SeepeopleS is the existential melancholia inherent in the minds of empaths, of caretakers, of lovers who love to hard. From the band's eighth studio release, 'Field Guide For Survival In This Dying World' (via RascalZ RecordZ) the song is as deeply beautiful as it is surreally moving. The textured guitar lines and booming bass against dynamic drums that erupt into heavy power chords, glacial synths and ambient sounds cast both an earthy anchor and ethereal framework for Will Bradford's forever youthful vocal countenance.

The big moments of this song (for me) is a collision of raw art punk and post rock (I did think of a collision of artists like Yawn and The Flaming Lips) and might scatter goose bumps on your skin. The inclusion of layers of added vox (and I don't know who is more famous for a megaphone, Bradford or Wayne Coyne ??) adds to the wonky dreaminess and I love that.

As press notey stuff indicate:

The Official Music Video for "Shame," off SeepeopleS eighth studio release, 'Field Guide For Survival In This Dying World' (RascalZ RecordZ). The video was animated and created by Pete List (Celebrity Death Match) and is the follow up to the first collaboration between List and SeepeopleS, 'New American Dream,' which won a pixie award for "Best Video" in 2018 and was BANNED by Facebook in 2018. The song was produced by Will Holland (Pixies, Fall Out Boy) and was recorded, mixed and mastered at Chillhouse Studios in Boston, MA.

SeepeopleS, the original anti-genre indie act from Portland ME (formerly Asheville, NC and Boston, MA). For years SeepeopleS has been building a true underground fanbase. With critically acclaimed albums that feature members of Dave Matthews Band (Tim Reynolds), Morphine, Parliament/Funkadelic, Spearhead, and even Lynyrd Skynrd, this is a band with some serious street cred. More interesting is the fact they sound nothing like these aforementioned acts, and that musicians from across the musical spectrum have been gravitating to this band for 16 years (Band was formed in 2000.) The band has sold over 20,000 copies of their 5 full length albums and one EP, with a second EP on the way in 2017. Over a span of 16 years, SeepeopleS has played 47 states and over 1400 shows, including sharing the stage with acts like Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, Kula Shaker Cracker, Blues Traveler, GZA, De La Soul, Ben Harper to name a very short few. The band has played major festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, Wakarusa, Bear Creek Festival, Hookahville and Allgood Music festival, to name a short few, and has also been featured on Sirius XM (on both XMU, JAM ON and FACTION) and countless magazine and weekly articles (Relix, Magnet Magazine, Pop Matters, Glide, Exclaim! High Times...), as well as having been spun on over 300 radio stations worldwide. The band's music has been featured in full length movies 'Canvasman,' 'A Call to Action,' and 'Wheels Over Paradise,' as well as on TNT's "Judging Amy" and ABC's "The Gates," as well as Sparks Energy Beer's first ad campaign. Recently, the band finished a massive tour behind their newest release, including runs w/ UK act Kula Shaker and Tim Reynolds TR3 (Dave Matthews Band). I have posted the tour dates below.

Currently the band is in the studio recording their 7th studio album with long time co-producer Will Holland (Pixies, Fall Out Boy). SeepeopleS is also proud to announce that the video for the first single on the new album, "HATE," is being created by renown animator Pete List (Celebrity Death Match, Marilyn Manson) and will be unveiled on April. 1st.
