Loose Ends and the cracked whipped abandon of 'By the Leash' (Official Video)

"We were put out on the streets / We were sold for a dime / We were dragged by the leash / By our necks and up for grabs / They will never domesticate us...!"

When you hear the cracked whip abandon of 'By the Leash' by Aarhus, Denmark based post punkers Loose Ends you might feel a collision of late 70's surf punk / California punk bands like Agent Orange, The Dead Kennedys and early English punk bands like Gang of Four or Buzzcocks. Either that or you might remember that one crazy guy screaming at traffic by the liquor store. Whatever the case, I am liking the sound here that feels like something between a bruise inducing bloody mosh pit, a spy caper and a surfing safari involving punk rockers.

I gather that this track is a homage to a now defunct DIY venue called TAPE that functioned as an important Aarhus underground epicenter for Loose Ends and other bands. It makes me think of the dozens of such venues in and on the outskirts of Los Angeles that have been dealt a similar blow over that last 15 years.

Loose Ends have grown out of the Aarhus underground with legendary and now defunct DIY venue TAPE as the epicenter. The quintet's aggressive and explosive style makes your ears bleed, and gives you an urge to punch the person next to you.
