Drew White shines with the celebration of "Sway" and dark crush of "Headspace"

"Can I be the optimist / Lately feeling short of best / See silver linings..."

Steeped in jammy indie rock with varying degrees of blues rock, alt country, alt pop stirred in, "Sway" by Nashville, Tennessee based singer-songwriter, guitarist, vocalist and self described "Star Wars enthusiast and diabetic" Drew White feels free and spirited. To be honest, I tend to float in melancholy places with jagged edges when it comes to music but this is quite the opposite. "Sway" is essentially a love song or, at least, a heavy crush song after a chance meeting at a train stop:

"Hold me love in a way I
Never knew
Things get in the way for a few
Sway I'll never break with you
I'll never break with you"

As I listen on repeat as fresh as this sounds I also feel late 70's pop rock / garden rock / blues psych rock amalgams, bands like Badfinger, Klaatu and Big Star.

I hope you use "Sway" as a jumping off point but peruse "Headspace". By the way, the title cut runs a lot darker, somber with one foot in folk country and the other in indie rock.
