A Case of Mistaken Identity and the heavy, dishy punk hammer of "What's Good for Me" (Isn't Doing Too Much)

"I was thinking of how it ends..."

The punk pummel of  "What's Good for Me" (Isn't Doing Too Much) by Boston based garage rocker's A Case of Mistaken Identity may be about moderation or life in a stall (or maybe not). Either way, the amped up attack hits like an artful hammer and Paul Dunne's vocal countenance drenched in a sort of aloof swagger has the scowl, wink and sideways smile of a provocateur. While he provides his voice, guitar and bass, Aidan Robins plays the drums. The stripped down sound is, though, with such dense heavy guitar, slicing lead lines, background bass and slamming, full throttle drumming, super punchy and the upfront vox makes the entire affair feel LIVE and so exquisitely raw. It is not a perfect mix (wish the drums were louder) but certainly a super potent one.

The song is from their current album "3" and I encourage you to go to A Case of Mistaken Identity's Bandcamp and check it out.

"A friendly and organized chaos." ~ acmi.bandcamp.com ~ absoluterarity.com ~

"A big blistering slice of sharp 90s garage rock and post punk that has a nice hard hitting punk spirit." - We All Want Someone To Shout For

"We can thank the punk overlords for this, influencing A Case of Mistaken Identity to a degree that they just go for it, riffs and words ablazing and god help anyone who gets in their way." - mp3hugger

"An insane, lo-fi psychedelic rampage, “3” shows A Case of Mistaken Identity, embracing that no fucks given attitude. The songs burn through, destroying everything in their path. Cymbal crashes, warped fuzzed-out guitar riffs, screamed vocals, and rhythms that break apart, this is pure unadulterated joy. Everything about it reigns supreme; from the multi-faceted, multi-layered approach to the sheer intimacy the production values lend the album. Best of all, he incorporates all the many aspects of garage rock to kick things further up a couple of extra notches. “3” shows off the uncanny ability of A Case of Mistaken Identity to deliver a chaotic burst of complete happiness." - beachsloth
