King Black Acid and the amped up psychedelic emotions of "Caterpillar Queen" (Official Video)

"Hold up, hide out in the trees / Somebody’s gonna find you living’ on your knees / Watch out, for the government plan / The revolution is a baby in test tube, man..."

A huge blues indie rock down beat, psychedelic sonic imagery, a jubilant chorus and s surprisingly tender surprise ending is what "Caterpillar Queen" offers on both the song and Official Video by King Black Acid, a collective of musicians arranged and orchestrated by founding member Daniel Riddle. Like an amalgam of the Black Keys, Animal Collective, Deerhunter, I am feeling a sensation of melancholia, longing and long looks in the mirror so emotionally amped up that it 'has' to be put in a surreal artistic place because facing it head on would leave you in a fetal position under the kitchen table.

"I wish to see you fly / (Don’t weigh me down) / My caterpillar queen (I will take my time) / Take flight on your colorful wings (Don’t you wait around) / My caterpillar queen..."

From press notey stuff:

"Caterpillar Queen" (the first single of the upcoming full length album "The Rainbow Lodge") was mixed by Hugo Nicolson (Radiohead, Beck, Father John Misty). This new album pulls from the glamour of 70's bell bottom rock, 80's post punk no wave college rock, 90's bubble grunge dirt pop and 2000's cerebral psych stoner core. Each song is a symphony of sonic melodic images folded into a schizophrenetic journey that is punctuated by triumphant intoxicating adventures in the form of songs.
