Annie Taylor and the unfettered indie rock blast of "Love Is Blind" (Official Video)

"I'm disgusted, yeah, you make me sick..."

The rhythm section alone on "Love Is Blind" by Switzerland's wild children Annie Taylor is enough to have your body involuntary head to the mosh pit and flail away. The persistent shuffle beat feels deliciously feral, the comfortably uncomfortable guitar shapes, the bad ass snaking bass lines, the ultra bitingly cool lead guitar screams and Gini Jungi's fierce vocal countenance is trippingly fun. There is enough psych rock acidity, garage rock tom foolery, and historical punk subversion here to feel so raucous and real, so youthful as in forever young and so free as free from bullshit indie tropes. I am loving the energy here and the no holds barred sound.

Hailing from Zurich, Annie Taylor have recently recorded their eagerly-anticipated second album ('Inner Smile') in Bristol (UK) with uber-producer Ali Chant (Yard Act; Katy J. Pearson; Aldous Harding; Sorry).

England's music luminaries Gigwise describes Annie Taylor as "Mellow, cool guitar romp through desert rock, shoegaze, indie and pop influences. Lush." - and not without reason! The four friends Gini Jungi, Tobias Arn, Michael Mutter and Daniel Bachmann leaped into Taxi Gauche Records arms when they collectively decided to jump on a train for the most exhilarating adventure of their lives. From playing at barely equipped shacks to supporting Wolf Alice & Skunk Anansie on their 2022 tour, the band has been highly active since their debut release Sweet Mortality in 2020. It’s a record as seeped in pop as it is in psychedelia and grunge which ends up at a beautiful mid-point (Taxi Gauche Records). With that said, it’s not surprising that Annie Taylor were inundated with requests to perform at numerous festivals including MTV Music Week, Reeperbahn, Zurich Openair, Waves Vienna and Montreux Jazz Festival before heading out on tour in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. Hailing from Zurich, Annie Taylor are surfing around the corner with an extremely nonchalant mixture of grunge and freshly exuberant rock, spreading a buoyant, uplifting atmosphere everywhere, with their undeniably energetic live shows.
