"always searching for the future version..."
Iterations of that 80's sound, whether darkly, light and lively, pristine and poppy or edging toward post punk is coming back in a big way. "Future Version" by Girl As Wave, the project / moniker of New York based artist, Marci Elizabeth blends genres and emotional textures. The track written and performed by Marci Elizabeth and Jimmy Deer, is one iteration that runs on dense, heavy synth textures, machine beat groove that on the edge of spacey disco, and sultry yet aloof vox that feels as if it is only part human is a smile inducing ride.
"Future Version" is the first single off of Girl As Wave's third EP, "Time Is Never Shy", which will see it's release in the fall. It is easy to vibe to and to sing along.
