Noan Partly and the gorgeous jazz dipped folk indie diary of "Jasmine Air"

"was just a stone's throw away / from everything you always want to have..."

The unrestricted, unfettered beautiful genre blending of "Jasmine Air" by Oklahoma born and raised, Florida based folk indie singer songwriter Noan Partly makes you feel like you can breath freely. As the song goes through it's paces from sort of whimsical folk indie blues with elegant orchestrations, to fiddle lead blue grass-ified jubilations and back again via musical breaks that at their core and shapes feel like 50's broad pop (the thing of Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals) before dipping back to blue grass and then finishing with a lush soul pop / rnb outro, the sonics as much as the words tell a story.

That is a lot and the shifts, the time sig swaps, the genres all in tow are held together seemingly effortlessy by Noan's absolutely beautiful mercurial vocal countenance. Her jazz dipped lilts, her soul ful meets bohemian folk melodies (that for me have a late 70's soul pop vive) is everything. This, of course cannot be learned or purchased, it is innate and honed as an artist becomes more self aware over their artistic journey. Combined with lovely production (love, love, love the drumming here too), the synergy of all who participated is something to behold.

While I don't veer into banjo sounds all that much (for whatever reason), the instrumentation here feels twisted and turned a bit and certainly not formulaic. Bravo Noan Partly.

Of this beautifully reflective track Noan shares:

["Jasmine Air" is about my experience outgrowing an old flame and old perspectives after moving to Central Florida in the Spring time.]

"How many, how many hearts will breaks before the turning of the season..."
