burnerphone and the emo punk lit fuse of "I Don't Have a Car"

"I've got my hands in my pocket and my feet in the sand / and I'm feeling way to nervous / to grab a hold of your hand..."

The hero of our indie rock / emo punk story has got no wheels. Against sort of 80's cow punk distortions the first line sets the stage "I don't have a car so I can't take you very far away from this god forsaken place we call a home..." and the deeper you fall into this fray, you feel unbridled forays into art rock places, emo punk and some sounds that feel especially like 90's post grunge. This feels nailed down during the time sig change at 2:28. It is a surprising, wonderful change, a kind of hold the phone lights in the air and sing-a-long moment. I dig the unfettered lead work and while the vocal melodies may sound comfortably familiar (though not rip offy) it feels damn lovely, anchored in nostalgic places when our pants were more baggy. That's coming back right?

"I Don't Have a Car" is from the Bay Area, California 4 piece emo-indie outfit's new "Misconnection" EP. burnerphone is Daniel W - Rhythm Guitar and Vox, Darius D - Lead Guitar, Jack R - Bass, Sal W - Drums. EP and single recorded @Cactus House Recording, major shoutout to Trevor G.
