"No you're not a bother / Tell me Another /Can your ego get enough?"
The kinetic, frenetic psych poetry of "Unforgettable" by Fuji Gateway, the musical moniker of Ashville, North Carolina based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DIY producer Steven Applegate, drops some compelling sounds in your lap. Those sounds, maybe born out of the seeds of 60's psychedelic stoner bands but filtered through decades of iterations of that sound blended with post rock / indie rock feel artful and incredibly jammy. Like an amalgam of artists like Moses Gunn Collective, Radiohead (circa 2011), OSEES Applegate seems to trade in some of the normal psych rock stoner shadings with hints of progressive post rock. The standouts in the mix is those bass lines and Applegate's vocal countenance. The rest is pretty great too.

I grew up in Charlotte and started playing guitar around the end of middle school but never really had the discipline or confidence to make much of it. Over time the guitar became a decorative piece and I went to college in Raleigh majoring in Statistics. It was the classic case of a teenager not knowing what to do with their life and going to college to "figure it out" because that's what you're supposed to do. I ended up dropping out with a semester or two to go after an experience with mushrooms helped me to see things from a different perspective. I realized I was doing everything I was doing for everyone else other than myself. I had always wanted to make music and if I didn't at least try I knew I would regret it. So, after quitting school 7 years ago and moving to Asheville, I got back into guitar which led to getting the gear I needed to record, produce, and eventually mix full songs. I have been/will be putting out a song about every 2 months. Thanks for listening to my music and following along in my journey.
