my body with blood and the dreadfully gorgeous melancholia of "Time and Again"

"It's the same / Time, time and again..."

There is some dreadfully beautiful things happening on the plaintive "Time and Again" by Asheville North Carolina based singer-songwriter my body with blood like falling somber piano chords against a gentle pushed drum beat and vocal harmonies that might be looking back over soft shoulders.

"It's the same
Time, time and again
I've memorized
the cycle
The cycle by now"

As nuanced faint orchestrations swell up and the musical frames get thicker, so does the story.

"I lost a friend, his father tried
To bring me back to Jesus
The year will end
And I'll count the ways that I've failed"

And maybe the story involves small towns and simple victories and losses.

"I'll lose again, just like the Panthers
Are having another bad season
I hit the ground
And it filled my body with blood"

A potent melancholy lead guitar steps in the spotlight, a moment full of awe but in the end, the simplicity of the telling is what give "Time and Again" it's grace and power written in between the spaces.
