With raw emotional lyrics bathed, maybe even soaked in melancholia, "sparkle" by New York singer songwriter dery still feels uplifting. And, it is not just the soaring trombone and flugelhorn pushing chamber pop atmospheres, stunningly rendered by producer Felix Gerlach (who also adds his own beautiful lead guitar melodies as well) it is the nuanced emotional shifts in dery's vocal countenance.
