Flora Cash and the emotional indie pop implosion of "i'm tired"

"I don't care for anyone else / guess I fell with you to hell / and now I'm starting to believe / that I've lost something..."

Fair warning, the emotionally potent and pop cool piano line in "I'm Tired" by Scandi duo Flora Cash will get stuck in your head and heart. After hearing it, it might be the last thing you hear faintly behind your coming dreams at night and the first thing you hear upon awakening the next morning. As that hook, juxtaposed against a dense bass and drum beat, more flourishing somber piano and guitar shapes, you will find yourself fully drawn into a somber narrative cemented in by a moving vocal performance. The intimacy and context of the words expressed both cleanly and harsh as the vocals, artfully over-modulated, seem to implode emotionally.

"I don't want to lie / I'm disappointed in you / but I don't have words / to describe it / I am tired... ah, I'm tired / ah, I'm tired..."

As the track strips down and what feels like a choir of voices flood in, "I'm Tired" ends as artfully as it began.

Flora Cash are a Scandi duo that have taken upon themselves to sonically explore the diversity of human relationships. They go straight to places where tears are shed, chairs are thrown, discussions of parting are present, but the music is created regardless. Having “met” on Soundcloud and instantly e-hitting it off musically, their “atmospheric in theme and vibe” material had soon after been supported by the likes of Noisey US, Paste, The Music Ninja, Earmilk, Interview Magazine, Indie Shuffle and more.
