xMANOx and the brooding red skies of "Sodium" (Official Video)

"why return to me / when your eyes say always leave..."

Inland Empire-based XMANOX, from solo project to a full fledged band, mines sounds that (for me) feel seeded from post grunge 90's hybrid / post hardcore to now. A coalesced moody, brooding youthful stew of nu metal, rap, indie rock, grunge that pushes different generational buttons.

"Sodium" floats in a contemplative way, with textured bending guitar lines like Southern Californian power lines stretching against sonic landscapes.

"This song is about being in a relationship with someone who is a drug addict"

The vocal aesthetic bears a heaviness and moves from a chill vibe to eruptive rap and wails and yet the musical core pulsates in melancholia throughout.

The Official Video as Filmed and Edited by Sean Sweetman (@seansweetman ) is an artful elevation of the song.
