City of Pieces and the frantic interwoven punk pummeling of "Burner" (Official Video)

 

"I wish to hear the crackling in stereo..."

In well under 2 minutes, (hell that is shorter than a Ramones song) the frantic post punk regalia of  "Burner" by Salem, Oregon's City of Pieces stick in your head and injects artful adrenaline into your bloodstream. The perfectly balance mayhem, a swirling jagged interplay of stabbing guitar notes, rolling bass bottoms and Keith Moon-ish splatting drums is a constructed ever moving framework for bassist David Fox's vocal countenance that feels artfully debaucherous. Fox has a punk snarl that doesn't sound like but may or may not suggest an amalgam of artists like Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge) and Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys).

Here at American Pancake I usually do not feature material over a year old but, hell, it's almost Christmas.
