"Can you stand the sight of bleeding fingers / Smearing themselves across a page / And a tearful eye / That never looks up. / Can you stand me?"
The dark allure of "body horror" by folk / gothic folk singer-songwriter eilonwy cuts both ways and cuts deeply. Running on dark bending electronica that feels like memoric passages giving way to more traditional folk acoustic gallops and almost bluegrass whips of sound, feel so interesting, shifting your thinking. eilonwy's vocal countenance also has your head spinning, her vocal aesthetic utterly natural and so evocative has the folk / country western noir classicalism of a Gillian Welch or Lucinda Williams but also exhibits the dark grunge / gothic sense of an Ethel Cain or Nicole Dollanganger. If as a dark presence or witchy ghost, I would say that eilonwy's sound translated to another medium like a horror film would be a sweet presence with the proverbial dagger held behind her back. I guess I am saying that eilonwy's dark intricacies aren't as obviously outward as Ethel Cain or other such similar artists and I like that, I like hiding the cards, tarot or otherwise.
The sheer dark poetry of her lyrics could be prose interspersed through a novel by a Carmen Maria Machado (with a smattering of HP Lovecraft).
I've got no mask and I'm revealed
I'm a lover lured to waiting,
A wolf dressed up for the sheep
With me, you're in too deep
Caving causes crying noises
I'm quite afraid
Saving sorrows sinks our saviors
My beds been made
If I could peel you back,
It's not a horror I can stand
That I will never know you
Inside out
And in the palm of my hand"
AND all sung so prettily that the juxtaposition between the complex darkness and magnetic melodies might just make you drunk.

This track is an eerie folk track with many electronic elements. With a heavy emphasis on creating a cool atmosphere, the song compels the listeners to be led through a strange and unsettling song. The lyrics are jarring and the vocal delivery is soft.
