In my youth I was a big Superman fan. I remember walking a couple of miles to this small shop that sold a lot of thing but my eyes were keen to purchase candy, comics and peruse the small selection of vinyl records. I remember when Superman's arch nemesis, Lex Luther shot the man of steal with a "duplicate ray" creating Bizarro, a kind of cubist drawn garish version of Superman, but Bizarro was the yang to Superman's ying and operated under "Bizarro logic" and in his edgy brain it was a crime to do anything good or right. Bizarro was Superman from the bad side of the tracks... but more on this later.

I have written about the apocalyptic Bristol UK art rock Erotic Secrets of Pompeii half a dozen times before and from 2020 I gleefully wrote:
[...as ESOP bombarded my senses with what feels like an utter rabid stream of consciousness splayed out like someone's eviscerated psyche. The result is as audacious as it is beautiful with dark askew lyrics creating even darker imagery with the pounding patina of screaming guitar lines, killing bass and drums with ferocious vox coloring every syllable with a sort of questioning disdain. It is exquisitely visceral stuff, a bloody spot lit, guilt ridden series of askew dioramas of our sins that feel like a nucleic acidic stir of artists, auteurs (and dark visionaries) like Charles Bukowski, David Cronenberg, Robert Mapplethorpe, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Tropical Fuck Storm and The Dead Kennedys.]
Reading my own words (always kind of weird) after so long as I listen to the stunning artful tensions of "Osiris at the Large Hadron Collider" by ESOP is kind of maddening but I do feel that I nailed it, wrote something truthful on the ethereal internet wall but I have also come to another realization watching the wonderful Official Video that graces this track (the first of three new singles to tease up about the band's upcoming, highly anticipated debut album "Mondo Maleficum" due to drop in January 25th of 2024 and being followed by a UK tour).
It hit me like a thunderbolt, ESOP is, without question, The Bizarro The Killers, The Killers zapped with a "duplicate ray" but turning into something else, Bizarro British, dark and twisted, highly audacious and artful, sinners, fallen angels with thorny dead roses in their mouths and happily bleeding.
Cool.
