"they offer me the honor..."
The heavy metal scorched earthiness (with copious amounts of punk acid poured over it) of "Heaven" by Brooklyn based alt indie rock / post punk outfit Hands First is exquisitely raw and self flagellating. The opening crunchy, banging guitar is so sonically badass (and I hate saying badass) with blistering bass and drums in tandem pushing synergistically hard. Add in Camden Phalen's infusive, snarling vocals and you basically have a raging punk fire, an amalgam of artists like Flat Worms, The Ramones, Hi Vis, Eagles of Death Metal, Fugazi, OSEES and She Wants Revenge.
LINER NOTES tells us that Hands First "started as a loose collection of friends-of-friends playing music has solidified into a tight-knit vessel bringing high-energy performances to basements and rooftops across New York". Sounds too fun.
