Rude Films and the high pressured alt rock barrage of "Mort Subite"

"truth is I hate you / and the things that you do..."

The high pressured alt rock barrage of "Mort Subite" by Manchester four-piece, Rude Films rolls over you like a tense, dense sonic fog obliterating your senses and visibility. Apart from the vicious shuffling drum beat, the massive bass and guitar chords flailing away, it is the juxtaposed metal churning other guitar strums, angular, squealing and clawing that creates an artful unease. The mournful vocals, occasionally lost in the shoegaze haze cannot always be easily deciphered but the brooding nature cuts through. "Written during a period of self-reflection following a night of heavy drinking in Brussels" one can only wonder but also one can relate to the doom gloom persistent pounding, a blend of noise rock / post punk / shoegaze and the title Mort Subite (sudden death).

[In 2022 they released their debut four-track EP, ‘Statements of Fear’, via Longreel Records, with a physical release by Sour Grapes Records.]

[January 2024 saw the release of their latest track, 'Death Hex', one of a number of singles planned for release in the coming months.]
