Port Louix and the free form pop rock fused confessional of "Mild Wild"

"let's go out walking / go out drinking / go out playing / being all you'd ever wanted it to pretend..."

The beautifully panoramic shape shifting of "Mild Wild" by London based 5 piece indie rock / dream pop outfit Port Louix feels as musically fanciful as it does down to earth. Constructed with quiet and not so quiet moments, with wonderfully lush ascensions and free falls, I feel artful tentacles pulling from jazz dipped pop rock structures from late 70's, early 80's fusion bands and each decade since too. The wonderfully evocative vocal melodies and vocal flow with electro and organic beats might feel contemporary and they are but the songwriting feels piano bar classic, emotionally wrought, highly personal in tone. While the song feels chill and intricately pop drawn it also feels like a naked confessional.

LINER NOTES:

Originally beginning as a solo project by frontman Stefan Antoinette after a decade of making music with indie blog favourites ATTU and Delta/Alaska, the Port Louix project became a full band in 2022. The bands latest release 'Mild Wild', is a song about the complexities of relationships and the uncertainty of self-discovery.
