Chicago Hartley and the panoramic jazz fused vistas of "Walk It Off"

"Chicago Hartley has been sampled by artists like Young M.A, Brockhampton and Phantogram."

The panoramic jazz fused vistas of "Walk It Off" by Chicago Hartley, the psychedelic lofi project of Swedish music producer and songwriter Jimmy Ledrac, is absolutely magnetic. The track begins with an ambient sense and the double braided steal anchoring provided by amazingly cool drumming with a free form shuffling sense tapping out snare fills and slaps that snap around the down beat acting as an exquisitely abstract engine. There are warbles of sound, vocoder-eque non lexical vocalizations, xylophone-esque bells, drones of sound, plush keys, walking bass lines and more all stepping firmly than lightly, a vintage soft shoe dance, funky break dance and Fosse jazz hands all at the same time. The whimsy, the cool, the surreal, the acidic jazz, the cinematic sweep is all here. The destination will be different for each listener but the ride will be a trip worth taking.
