Vinyl Williams inviting psychedelic pop / rock fusions of "Find The Hidden"

The inviting psychedelic pop / rock fusions of "Find The Hidden" by Los Angeles psych-artist Vinyl Williams, and from his upcoming double LP release "Polyhaven / Portasymphony" comprised of two full length albums (one lo-fi and one hi-fi) via Harmony records on June 13th (2025), is so exquisitely dreamy that you want dive in and swim in it for at least 30 minutes (just hit replay) just to decompress from out crazy f'd up world. I am especially digging the sort of languid sensibility, the stabs of indie pop rock sounds injected with acid jazz currents and, of course, Williams' airy comely vocal countenance. I feel a cross generational sweep here like an amalgam of a sparkle doused Todd Rundgren, Los Amigos Invisibles, Sealife and Straight Sex (or thereabouts). I look forward to diving deeper into more of Vinyl Williams' sonic material to see if that artistic imagery (off the top of my head) changes or not, either way, I am thoroughly digging the sound here.

That's what is spinning in my head today and if you want to deep dive into this artists LINER NOTES, they are, as always down below.

Peace. Fight for what's right. Follow your dreams.

Lionel (Vinyl) Williams has created one of the most vast, multi-sensory universes imaginable, made up of seemingly endless 3-D interactive worlds, approaching nine full-length albums to date. As an accomplished video artist and musician, Williams has immersed himself in building up and allowing for the exploration of this expansive realm to reveal the ultimate reality in his mind, one that has been shared by humanity earlier than the written word. It might best be described as the celestial city in the sky.

On June 6, 2025, Vinyl Williams will release a double LP, titled Polyhaven / Portasymphony, which comprises two new full length albums -- one lo-fi and one hi-fi. They’ll be released together as a gatefold LP, with a lenticular hologram on the front which will twirl the image from left-to-right as it’s rotated. Pre-order link is here.

Check out the new single "Find the Hidden," a sunny slice of warped psych pop that is accompanied by an interactive video that Williams created himself where the viewer can actively find hidden objects placed throughout. Check out the interactive video here, and the regular version on YouTube.

Williams’ sonic palette has been characterized by its lush, harmonious, & texturally organic sound, with lyrics describing theoretical concepts such as the structure of space-time, the soul’s journey, and reality itself. Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of sources, he finds kinship in self-recording artists such as Iasos, Robin Guthrie, Patrick Flagle of Women & Cindy Lee, A.R. Kane, Greg Saunier of Deerhoof, Van Dyke Parks, Lo Borges, Martin Newell of The Cleaners From Venus, and Todd Rundgren. He has also collaborated and shared the stage with artists of the same nature, like Toro y Moi, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Morgan Delt.

In addition to his work as a musician, Williams has also invented a system of understanding relationships called Musical Astrology, which is an app that allows you to hear the music of your birthdays, as well as the precise musical pitches of the planets in relation to Earth on any given day.
