The heavy metal feargach punk pummeling of "Day After Day", by three piece stoner-rock / alt rock / punk outfit Repeat, is so gorgeous in it's bad ass swagger and unfettered sonic honesty that I can't stop smiling. You don't hear too many bands that sound like this in such a perfect way. I mean it feels like a beautifully corrosive amalgam of bands like Buzzcocks, Stiff Little Fingers, Dead Kennedys with a METZ like heaviness, and (AND) what elevated it all is guitarist Torbjörn Hallberg's gutteral vocal countenance. While too unique to run comparisons by there is a kind of Lydon / Biafra scowl to his gritty wail hits you in the gut.
Adding to the fury are ballistic drummer Johan Holmberg (formerly from Liberator) and dynamic bassist Mattias Belin anchoring it all down. The purity of alt rock / punk is strong here. It is quite easy to detect poseurs but Repeat is the real deal.

Repeat is a stoner rock / alternative rock / punk trio from Sweden. The band was founded by Torbjörn Hallberg, Stockholm-based guitarist and vocalist, and Johan Holmberg (formerly Liberator, the well-known Swedish ska rock band from Malmö Sweden). Combining elements of stoner rock and alternative rock with repetitive riffs and lyrics, Repeat wanted to appeal to a wide range of fans of stoner rock, desert rock and alt rock music of all kind.
The self-titled album ’Repeat’ dropped in 2023 and only a couple of months later the sophomore album 'Rat Race' followed. Both album were recorded and produced by Joakim Lindberg at Studio Sickan in Malmö, Sweden and mastered by Magnus Lindberg at Redmount Studios, Stockholm Sweden. In 2025 the trio will release new EP 'Celebrate' moving towards a rawer punk sound where sound wizard Joakim basically sets the studio up and the band plays all live. Even if punk comes to mind it has a wider appeal and can be enjoyed by fans of everything from old school punk like Black Flag to The Hives to new bands like IDLES and Amyl and The Sniffers.
