"Maybe I’m afraid, but I’ll let you / Scrape the insects from my brain / And then I’ll kiss you..."
The massive feedback laden emotional grunge punk juggernaut "Scrape", by Wirksworth Derbyshire birthed / Nottingham based three piece Marvin's Revenge, is gleefully noisy, boldfaced brazen and sonically savagely dirty in the best possibly way. Musically, there is something about Luke Eaton's sinewy bass sound, Job Gregory's heavy handed drumming, Oliver Sammels-Moore's chunky steely guitar work with tubular feedback wails that feels wonderfully like a much heavier version of early Pixies. Bassist Luke Eaton's does double duty as lead vocalist and his alto leaning gravelly vocal persona has this ultimate swagger and badassery. Eaton's voice feels purely raw and artfully. potently present like an amalgam of Lemmy Kimister, H.R., Ian MacKaye, Joe Talbot, Richard Butler, respectfully from Motörhead, Bad Brains, Fugazi, Idles, The Psychedelic Furs. You might have better comparisons but I find his voice to be totally unique, hard to exactly define but absolutely magnetic in the way it hard pokes at your chest.

LYRICS
Maybe I’m afraid, but I’ll let you
Scrape the insects from my brain
And then I’ll kiss you
Maybe I’ll marry the spiders, kept forever in a case
Maybe you’re a dream I can’t replace
Maybe you’re a dream that gets away
Maybe I’m too late, and they ate you
Left my keys to the entrance of your cave, but I don’t hate you
Maybe we’ll grow old together and you’ll bite head off too
Maybe there’s nothing worse than loving you
Maybe you’re a dream I need to lose
Between you and the spiders, I can’t choose which hurt to find
Baby you’re the one that’s on my
There is nowhere to live outside, I know I've been there
There is nowhere to live outside, I know I've been there
No more sunflowers, I just want Roses
No more sunflowers I just want Roses
No more sunflowers I just want Roses
No more sunflowers I just want Roses
The Chicken Wheel will take you to the AP Go Fund Me- and any amount is so appreciated!
