LOLA and the tactile descent, beautifully melancholy / nostalgic / orchestrally cinematic detours of "Oh Berlin"

"oh Berlin / (lyrics in Deutsch)..."

The tactile descent, beautifully melancholy / nostalgic / orchestrally cinematic detours of "Oh Berlin", slowly, positively mesmerizes and then hypnotises you so exquisitely that you feel like you have time traveled back to other places. The lovely tensions, the timbre of the female narrator with nuanced harmonies have me imagining what the lyrics are saying but the fact that I will never understand them somehow doesn't matter. In fact, maybe that fact makes the meaning more mysterious and poetically malleable, making the story and it's outcome as tragic or romantic or unescapably curious as I want it to be. For sure, I am loving the tonal quality of the anchoring emotional basslines, the guitar manuervers that sometimes run on notes over chords, the weeping strings sounds that feel vast enough to lift me up but small enough to feel raw and real, and, of course, Laura Unger's drop dead gorgous and emotional vocal countenance.

A magnificent escape for me and most assuredly you as well.
