Sturt Avenue and the hard folk, psyche rock tinged, blues built "Falling"
AP Track Review
Falling by Sturt Avenue feels like chill kind of 70's California Laurel Canyon garden rock tones. Of course, that reference might have to do with my station in life and maybe you would personally pick another place but the sound at any longitude / latitude is a bit hard folk, a bit psyche rock and a big bit of blues rock courtesy of a sweetly played guitar lead by singer songwriter vocalist Bryn's dad. How cool is that? The emotional lead is one of the high points and yes, I am even more sure of my initial feeling, 70's Cali location and description.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:
Sturt Avenue is the project of SCALA award winning singer/songwriter Bryn Soden. Hailing from the Adelaide hills, Bryn has been writing and recording for several years now, and is finally letting some of the songs he has crafted in this time out into the light of day. Drawing inspiration from folk artists such as Conor Oberst, Elliott Smith, and John Darnielle, Bryn crafts melancholic indie folk tunes that aim to shine a soft light on the quiet sorrows and stubborn defiances that keep the embers burning in the dead heart of the world. Joining him in this endeavour is his dad John Soden on backing vocals, slide, and lead guitars, his sister Tarn Soden on backing vocals and additional instruments, and his good friends and long time collaborators Bryce Lehmann on drums and Isaac Kerr on bass.
