El Lago's lush dreamy indie rock of "Room to Room" creates a beautiful heaviness

Room to Room by Galveston, Texas based El Lago body dives into lush dream pop / baroque pop / indie rock waters. The synth work is perfectly nuanced giving more say to the guitar driven tones full of pearly gold majestic swirls and heaviness. The free forming drum patterns and big bass only makes things even grander. This is all glued together by Lauren Eddy's beautifully painted vocal performance that made me think a bit of Kate Bush / Zoe-Ruth Erwin (Little Red Lung) and Karen O (Yeah Yeah Yeahs) not wholly but tangentially. In any event, Eddy's vocal aesthetic is utterly captivating. Wow.

Room to Room is from the band's "Colors" album 2017 and their latest "Pyramid" album dropped October 25th on Wallflower Records.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

EL LAGO is ready to explore new visions. 'Pyramid' intertwines their dream pop and shoegaze beginnings with notes of postpunk and new wave. Due on October 25 on Wallflower Records, the album takes bold steps in adding a darker element to their already pleasantly abstracted sound.
The band will follow the release of ‘Pyramid’ with a set at LEVITATION 2019 and US tour dates in 2020.
