L.A. based The Fiver's "Don't Wanna Wait" feels like late 80's college radio

AP Track Review

L.A. based The Fiver's latest release Don't Wanna Wait (after last years "In Stock & Out of Style" album) opens with double time sparse alt rock riding on tight bass and drums, open guitars sounds and Sam Besocke's internal intense vox. The chorus eruptions with big chords and drum fills has a bit of mod rock tones which makes sense as the band takes inspiration from bands like The Who,The Jam, Hüsker Dü, Paul Collins' Beat. It feels like late 80's college radio which is always a great thing.

The Fiver's are Sam Besocke (bass, lead vocals), Rafe Kimball (guitar, vocals) and Ben Besocke (drums, vocals).

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Don't Wanna Wait was the first official stand-alone Single put out by The Fivers, and the first release after their first full length album. The single was recorded in a small studio in Los Angeles in between a couple show dates on the west coast. The band initially wanted to record an EP but due to time constraints they were only able to record one song. The song started with a riff written by Rafe Kimball, and the rest of the song was filled in during a jam session in the studio. Although, they weren't able to record other songs during that session, other songs were written in the studio. Don't Wanna Wait will be the first of a new batch of songs by The Fivers.
