Chloe Foy knows how to capture you on "Callous Copper" and make sure you don't forget her

AP Track Review

Singer-songwriter Chloe Foy (UK) cast an impressive large shadow across the folk landscape. Her ability to instantly charm and move you with her beautiful vocals, dancing acoustic lines, seriously stellar lyrics and string quartet (in tow) is not to be missed and, if not missed is unforgettable. Take, for example, her latest Callous Copper (and follow up to her introspective single Never Be The Same Again), your senses are, from the onset, flooded with lush orchestration and Foy's evocative lyrics. Her vocal presence holds in it's gentle hands something classic as if there lies an older soul within her youth. Coupled with the stately strings and every nuanced prose the song begins to soar and take you for a majestic, beautiful ride.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

UK based singer- songwriter Chloe Foy, armed with a string quartet, has shared her introspective single "Never Be The Same Again." The latest offering from her upcoming EP (expected out Spring 2020), the single keeps on Chloe's brand of melodic, homegrown music, bursting with colorful lyricism and textural inflections. Evocative of much of the music she loves, Chloe's inspiration comes from classical music as much as wider transatlantic trends in folk and indie.
With "Never Be the Same Again," Chloe explains:
'Never Be the Same Again ' is a meditation on grief, particularly detailing the journey through denial and questioning. Though this song was originally a very simple arrangement with solo acoustic guitar and voice, I felt that to realize the gravity of the lyrics and to bring the emotion to the fore, it would be best framed by a string quartet, lending a cinematic pathos to lyrics replete with anger, bitterness, and regret.
With her strikingly beautiful voice and emotionally direct songwriting, Chloe has captured the attention of rapidly growing UK and US audiences. With the release of her singles ‘Asylum’, ‘Flaws’, ‘Oh You Are Not Well’ and ‘In The Middle Of The Night’, she has accumulated over 12 million plays on Spotify, as well as earning the praise and airtime of the likes of NPR Radio’s Bob Boilen and the BBC’s Steve Lamacq. 2018 saw her perform at SXSW and in January this year she was named a 2019 BBC Introducing “One To Watch” by Radio 3’s Late Junction. She has just completed a successful headline UK tour as well as festival shows at Greenman and Cambridge Folk Festival and is currently touring the UK, EU and US in support of Jesca Hoop. Chloe is supported by the PRS Momentum Fund.
