"Cheerleader Blues" by Berlin based post punk band Summer of George makes me glad I love music

"elegance in lo-fi"

Say you meet someone on the street and you try to explain to them the specific or even non specific sound of 90's College Rock radio in the States. It may be easy for you, but my guess that it might be harder than you think and depending on "that person on the street's" taste in music it will undoubtedly make your task even harder. You might throw your hands up in exasperation or lower your head in failure or you can simply let them listen to Cheerleader Blues by Berlin based post punk rock band Summer of George. Hell yeah, make it easy on yourself. Life is too short. I love this song. It is garage-ee, fuzzy, exuberant, free wheelin / passionate with an "I don't give a fuck" attitude, tightly wound and well, goddamn it feels like 90's College Radio (in the States).

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Elegance in lo-fi, dipped in shoegaze, Cheerleader Blues offers a brief but earnest indie rock road trip down sonic roads both soothing and jarring - witty, fuzzed-out stories, told with garage rock rhythms, weaving and colliding guitars, and the necessary dose of irony.
Summer of George is a rock band based in Berlin. Hailing from London, Detroit, Barcelona and Tel Aviv. They make the stuff that reminds you of growing up, and basement shows, and hot summers. Wishful drinking.
