Chewy & Bach live infusion pump out big beats and passion on "Stomp"
AP Track Review
Denver based Chewy & Bach are a four piece "Live electronic" outfit and, on their latest track Stomp, they fuse swamp blues with beats, electronica and a bass heavy hip hop sense. The vox are passionate and the droning background vox feel like a mixture of wisdom and pain. Sometimes when reviewing songs I push away from common roots progs (and sounds) but Chewy & Bach infuse drama and universal sounds together and I like the divergence here that inspires an all inclusive sound. There is a push back, for example, of urban sounds or genres influencing Country music but they should embrace it. Music, like your work place, like every part of your life should be all inclusive and ultimately a multi-colored, multi-genre fusion of art and ideas. I will get off my soap box but am digging Stomp, hmmmm?? I could even hear a rap over this. Maybe on Stomp version 2.
Chewy & Bach are Justin Long (guitar, vox), Elliot Olbright (production / sound design), Tucker Riley (vox), Mason Puckett (drums).
