Jaguar Jonze has too much in her brain to contain - "Rabbit Hole" (Official Video)

Jag

Some artists have so much banging around in their brain that they cannot contain their artistic visions within one genre. Their creative cup overflows with ideas, melodies, images and missions. Such is the case with Australian artist Deena Lynch who uses three monikers for each genre she creates. She is Spectator Jonze as a visual artist, Dusky Jonze as a photographer and, finally, Jaguar Jonze as a musical artist. The track Rabbit Hole from her 2020 debut EP is a full throttle indie rock / art pop affair. Not just content to create music, the video and song (as one) is a beautifully staged conception with just Lynch as an anxious participant in a yellow room. It is an angsty and self aware performance that begs the question (???). What will the live stage performance look like? Can't wait.

The Video was directed by Ribal Hosn with art direction by Deena Lynch and Ribal Hosn.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

Australian creative, Deena Lynch writes and produces music as Jaguar Jonze, one of three projects.
Jaguar Jonze (Music)
Spectator Jonze (Visual Art)
Dusky Jonze (Photography)
The visual art project is based on mental health. Deena interviews each subject on what they're willing to share, breaking the stigma around mental health. The photo project is similar except it's more to do with masculinity, femininity, insecurities and taboos around the body - they're all nude shoots usually shot in their safe spaces. The project started off with Deena just shooting male photographers and flipping the lens onto them as they break down the structures of toxic masculinity, but it's kind of evolved since then. In the past, she had been a super guarded, but recently found herself becoming more of a mental health advocate and slowly, but surely talking about her own struggles and experiences. Best put in her own words…"Everything I do stems from the need for dialogue - Jaguar being an internal dialogue with my subconscious, Spectator being an external dialogue with others on mental health and the mind and Dusky being a dialogue with the body.”
