Oranj Son's 80's new wave vibe disco infused pop on "Whole Hunger"
"80's new wave vibe and beat"
The track Whole Hunger, by Liverpool's Oranj Son, feels lush and clean just like Kieran Linford's vox and while their stated influences are New Order, the Jesus & Mary Chain, Air, Suicide and The Teardrop Explodes I was surprised to not see the band Duran Duran because Linford's croon made me think a little bit of Simon Le Bon. In any event the track has a cool vibe to say the least and in other press dealings the band does mention the likes of Pet Shop Boys and The Human League. Propelled by a serious sort of 80's new wave vibe and beat, it has a vast sound of discovery, of traveling through uncharted terrain. Love the bass and stabs of synths and the chorus. Brilliant.
