The electro-psyche mind bender "Vaporwave" by Mother Mariposa will inspire the Robot in you (Official Video)

Mother Mariposa

Listen to Vaporgaze by Mother Mariposa, the newest project (2 years in the making) of Thomas Mudrick and Jsun Atoms (The Upsidedown, Daydream Machine, PIA) and (joining forces with) New Zealand's Dan Fernie-Harper (Ride Into the Sun, The Dunes), Austin Barone (Lola Buzzkill) and Trask Schulte (Paste) and you might feel stoned. Then again, you might inexplicably (like me) throw down your best "robot dance" and hopefully you will be in public when doing so. The hyper realistic blend of Synthwave, Vaporwave, Psy-Trance, funk and psychedelic rock is formidable sending you backwards and forwards at the same time. I like how all the electronica hangs on electric guitar lines and how the funkiness pulsates with what sounds like Atari video game sounds. I also like the background singers and the voice that just sounds like someone's dad say, "connect", wow. Just so you know, my best robot moves are happening during the funky breaks. Reconnect is right! Oh, and the Official Video... Awesome.

THE FACTS AS WE KNOW THEM - PRESS NOTES:

“Wow this is unreal, the video just melted my brain into the atmosphere”
– Alex Maas (The Black Angels)
“Words Write Hear” is the first single from Mother Mariposa’s forthcoming debut LP coming out on Portland’s Little Cloud Records later this year. Mother Mariposa is the newest project of Thomas Mudrick and Jsun Atoms(The Upsidedown,Daydream Machine, PIA). Two years in the making and joining forces with New Zealand’s Dan Fernie-Harper(Ride Into the Sun, The Dunes), Austin Barone (Lola Buzzkill), and Trask Schulte(Paste), they have created a melding of electronica, psychedelia, and post-punk brilliance.  Recently supporting Italy's New Candys, Pete International Airport, and Black Mountain, their live show is not to be missed.
The Dandy Warhols' Peter Holmstrom is playing on the album.
