Okay Alright and the organic grown up dreams on "Lying In Roads" from the "Everything Lost to the Light" album
"bedroom folk"
Okay Alright is the musical project of Bryce Waitkus, a Chicago raised, musician, singer-songwriter who currently lives on the Central Coast while studying psychology at Cal Poly (California) and writing / recording his homegrown music. He just released his debut album "Everything Lost to the Light" produced by the band Florist. Track two, Lying In Roads, is about "growing up and leaving home" and is a beautifully wrought piece of organic alt folk with indie rock bones. Waitkus' aesthetic here with his truly unique hushed voice (love it), sprite electric guitar lines and chill but dominant bass and drum movement actually reminds me a bit of Yuck back when Daniel Blumberg fronted the band. Dreamy and unassuming but so moving.
