Alt Fiction's youthful indie pop testament "All My Friends" is happy and sad like life (Official Video)

"don't need no medicine cuz I still got my teeth"
Oh, the carefree fatalism of youth... When did youthful optimism die? I would think that the last gasp of unbridled youthful hope happened prior to the 60's or 70's. Those 20 years were, after all, the decades of the Kennedy assassination and the Vietnam War. It is a wonder that the spirit of youthful dreaming and fun didn't get snuffed out all together. Human beings are, though, resilient (or just plain dumb) and the youth somehow manage to feel, well, youthful and invincible still which is a good thing. I hate to imagine a day when 17 year olds act like 47 year olds. That would be so incredibly sad.

When I listen to the incredibly free and youthful track All My Friends by indie rock / pop / sort of surf punk outfit Alt Fiction I think of youth, of my youth, of surfing everyday before school, of smelling like salt water all day, of having painful crushes on girls who would pay no attention to me, of going to the not so cool people parties, of just starting to play in bands, of being scared to grow up but also not giving a shit. I love this song, I want to go to the fucking beach and "I just wanna feel alive."

Today, between bedrooms and caravans, Alt Fiction pen down-to-earth pieces about growing up and navigating life. With a distinctively ambitious will, fervour and an ever-evolving sound, the brothers - Will, Matt and Mitch Tyler are worth paying attention to.
