PREMIERE: Get bitten and smitten by MRVAMPIRE on the post punk doowop of "Wait"

"wait, don't do this..."

MRVAMPIRE hail from the sunny beaches of Venice, California. A place inhabited  by leather skinned muscle men with black 50's pompadours, psychedelic nomads of all sorts, aliens from outer space and other beautiful people. Their song,Wait, is an all too brief peak inside their view of their world. It is in their words:

A dreamy tribute to Dr.Strangelove, the Beach Boys, and other hallmarks of an era reminiscent of our own, where hairless apes excitedly watch mushroom clouds from a sunny beach, popcorn in one hand and margarita in the other.

The opening sock hop punk guitar strains transport you to a version of some 60's drag race but when the heavier post punk guitars drop (or doowop) along with Dr. Leo's vocals still imbued with that 60's dream pop meets post punk tone, it is so captivating. I flashed on Black Francis vocally (and actually the Pixies in general) while listening but then the dream ended (much too soon). I guess I have been smitten and bitten by MRVAMPIRE's sound.

MRVAMPIRE is Kace DeAnimal (Drums), Dr.Leo (Vox/Rhythm Guitar), Geno Monsoon (Bass) and The Poindexter (Lead Guitar/Vox).

An EP is in the works for this summer. (YES).

MRVAMPIRE is a gleefully apocalyptic rock ‘n’ roll outfit from the sunny beaches of Venice, CA, established in 2015.

We enjoy heartfelt psychedelia, cathartic loudness, evil grooves and family-friendly sing-alongs.

Our influences include Black Angels, The Eels, Savages, July Talk, Uncle Deadbeat, Melvins, and Handsome Family. Crooning, sincere vocals with heavy guitars and unconventional song structure.

We currently play in and around Los Angeles, and are central members of the Westside Revival music collective (@westside_revival). 2020 promises to be eventful, with the planned release of several music videos, two new singles and new EP due this summer.

We believe that death smiles at us all. The best we can do is smile back, buy it a drink, and take it out for dancing and a nice seafood dinner.
