"I don't care if we're walking anymore"
From Brighton, UK (never been but want to) potent post punk outfit Public Body have been taking prisoners of their virulent sound at an alarming rate but no wonder, listen to the incredibly punchy Naughty On My Bike and you will consider yourself as one of the infected (gladly so). Music writers, like myself, will undoubtedly use words like jagged, like feral, like divergent or sideways and they all apply here. The drum sound is massive and plentiful and the guitar lines not only stab out post punk and proto punk tones but there is a degree of proggy post rock here too, just listen to the tightness of the bass and drums dancing together. The vocal aesthetic is snarky and smart. It is all just so intoxicating.
"It's a song dedicated to the humble bicycle. Naughty On My Bike openly criticizes the public transport system as being over priced and sluggish. Walking, being the green option, is slower still. In cycling we find balance between speed and convenience." - guitarist Theo Verney
Public Body are Seb Gilmore (guitar / vox), Theo Verney (guitar), Joe Stevens (bass) and Thom Mills (drums).
