Russel Taine Jr. and the easy, earthy, embracing turns of "Sister Sister"

"everything will be just fine"

Sister Sister by Russel Taine Jr. out of Austin, Texas winds out organ sounds as guitars, deep bass and snappy drums provide the framework for Aaron Winston's earthy vox. The folk meets country patina is heavy as are the lyrics laced with poetic charm, "and you know she came in with that Rorschach grin". Sometimes, a lot of the times, I want weird, obtuse compositions with vague lyrics but sometimes I just want to hear sounds that feel down home and down to earth. That is what you have here and it is fucking lovely.

Russel Taine Jr. are Aaron Winston (vocals/guitar), Justin Winslow (bass), Cory Fica (drums) and Brittany Long (keys).

Note: Charlie Magnone played keys on this single.
