Neurotic Fiction and the hyper, cheeky, pop punk flight of "Happy Goth"

"You feel like cherry syrup / I feel like death warmed up"

Happy Goth by Bristol (UK) pop punk outfit Neurotic Fiction and from their "Romance" EP is a punk hummingbird of a song, flitting around in a fit of hyper-activity by heavy bass melodies, brightly dancing guitar licks with manic moshing, and truly pretty sort of proto punk vox that seem to be singing about the one and only person who you feel normal around (hope I got that right). Love the demonstrably pixie stick high sound and youthful bravado that feel like early 80's Brit pop new wave and love the smart / cheeky lyrics too.

Of the EP record:

"Romance" is Neurotic Fiction's final exhalation. Dragged around the block, dishonoured at the dinner party, pining over its own reflection, it crawls back into bed with its tail in its mouth, surrendering four agonising spasms of neurotic obsession before it expires, liberated at last from its waking thought - "oh no, not again".
